Tonight saw the close of our summer season of hockey. A big thanks to the entire team: Franni Baker, Codi Cooper, Karina Cove, Micah Cove, Zeke Cove, Adele Greenwood, Jenna Kimpton, Karen Kimpton, Melanie McCullen, James Menzies, Meera Mishra, Karl Minton, Hayley Plose, James Scott, Liam Ting and Michael Wright.

It was great to see the Green and Grey take to the field again in what was a challenging summer season against some well drilled teams. Goals have been hard to come by but in our last match we went goal for goal against the opposition in a “spirited" game where the umpires gave no sway, with a 3 all draw the result after what seemed like an eternity defending short corners.

I am personally grateful to have had the opportunity to play with my daughter Codi tonight, who was our goalie. We rotated through three goalies this summer, each playing 2 games in the helmet. Thanks so much to our seasoned Goalies Codi and Micah, and to standout debutant James Menzies who discovered kicking the ball could be just as much fun as hitting it.
